Reggaeton

This collection is meant to be an ode to Puerto Rico, exposing the musical genre that has put my country on the map. It is inspired by the cultural impact of the Reggaeton genre, which originated in Puerto Rico in the 90s. Reggaeton is a mixture of reggae from Jamaica, Hip-Hop from New York, and the rhythm of the Caribbean. In this collection, I explore the creative process of reggaeton artists, their influence on the streets, and the street influence on these artists. It is a womenswear collection, using the female reggaeton artists as a muse; while giving light to the factors that make reggaeton what it is today.
